Tacoma man accused of killing 77-year-old mother
TACOMA, Wash. -- A 49-year-old Tacoma man is accused of killing his elderly mother while his two sons slept in the next room.
Sebastian Levy Aldrete has been charged with second-degree murder.
Police were called about 5:30 a.m. Monday to the 100 block of St. Helens Avenue.
Levy Aldrete said an unknown intruder attacked his mother.
Officers found the 77-year-old woman covered with blood lying in her bed.
A large shard of glass and a broken bottle was found near her body.
Police say Levy Aldrete could not describe the attacker and appeared to be very nervous during questioning. His story was also inconsistent with the woman's injuries, police said.
Levy Aldrete lived in the apartment with his mother and his two sons.
Police spokesperson Loretta Cool could not provide any further details as the investigation is ongoing.
