Thurston County, WA deputies assist in high-speed chase, shooting investigations
Thurston County Sheriff’s deputies, alongside a department K9 unit, assisted outside law enforcement agencies during multiple weekend operations.
The responses involved a high-speed vehicle pursuit spanning multiple jurisdictions and a separate traffic stop linked to a multi-victim shooting in Olympia.

What we know:
In the first incident, Centralia police officers initiated a vehicle pursuit of an unlicensed Dodge Charger whose occupants were wanted for felony assault. The suspect vehicle reached speeds exceeding 130 mph and turned off its headlights, prompting Centralia officers to terminate the pursuit due to safety concerns.
Deputies later located the vehicle at a suspect-linked address. Centralia police officers obtained a search warrant for the residence, leading to the apprehension of both suspects without further incident.
Shortly after, deputies responded to assist the Olympia Police Department with a reported shooting on the city's west side involving multiple victims. Thurston County Sheriff K9 Asher and his handler located a vehicle linked to the shooting and conducted a targeted traffic stop, turning over a driver covered in blood to Olympia investigators.

Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation during high-risk calls. "When critical incidents occur, it is imperative that local law enforcement agencies work together to solve crime and keep our county safe," Sanders stated.
