2 injured in shooting near homeless encampment under I-5

SB I-5 express lanes blocked near Ship Canal Bridge due to shooting investigation

Commuters traveling on I-5 in Seattle on Friday morning might have longer drive times as some southbound express lanes are blocked near the Ship Canal Bridge in Seattle.

SEATTLE - Troopers are investigating a shooting near a homeless encampment in Seattle that left two men injured Friday morning. 

The shooting happened under I-5, just north of Northeast 40th Street at about 6:30 a.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the two men were taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. 

It's unknown if the men knew each other. 

The Washington State Patrol said the shooting investigation blocked southbound I-5 express lanes near the Ship Canal Bridge. 

All lanes reopened after 9:30 a.m.
