Two inmates escape in Southwest Washington; 1 recaptured

Randall Marlow, 44, and Donald McLain, 33

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Washington state Corrections Department officials say two minimum security inmates from the Larch Corrections Center escaped from a work crew in southwest Washington. One was recaptured within hours.

Department of Corrections spokesperson Danette Gadberry said 33-year-old Donald William McLain and 44-year-old Randall Jacob Marlow were doing landscaping work with an inmate crew in the small community of Hockinson near Vancouver.

A crew supervisor noticed they were missing around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.

The Corrections Department said late Tuesday night that McLain had been recaptured.

McLain is serving time for forgery, theft and drug violations. Marlow is serving time for property crimes.

If you see Marlow, officials say do not approach him. Call 9-1-1 immediately.

Larch Corrections Center is 20 miles northeast of Vancouver. The facility houses 480 offenders.
