Two rival high school football teams take part in 'Peace Circle'

SEATTLE -- Two rival high school football teams and their cheerleading squads participated in a 'Peace Circle' before their game Friday night.

The Seattle NAACP organized the Garfield High School, Rainier Beach event, as a sign of unity between the south end and the Central District.

Friday night, players from the rival teams locked arms in a circle; each player was next to a football rival.

In past games, the Garfield High School team has kneeled during the national anthem to bring attention to social injustice and unequal educational opportunities.
