SEATTLE -- Two Seattle police cars crashed into each other while responding to a call that firefighters were being assaulted.

One of the police cars then hit a parked tour bus, police said. Nobody was seriously hurt.

Seattle firefighters were giving medical aid to a man near 7th Avenue and Cherry Street when the patient suddenly started fighting with medics, police said.

"While officers were responding to the emergency, two patrol cars collided at 7th Ave and Pine St, sending one of the patrol cars careening into a parked tour bus," Detective Drew Fowler said in a news release. "Though a jarring collision, both officers were uninjured."

The collision is being investigated.

When officers arrived at the scene of the call, they arrested the 41-year-old man for allegedly assaulting firefighters. Police said the suspect was taken to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation and would then be booked into King County Jail.
