Violent felon, child rapist behind barrage of beatings in Seattle's infamous Mardi Gras riots -- arrested

Terrence Goodwin

FUGITIVE CAPTURED August 13, 2015 -- Terrence Goodwin was arrested and booked into the SCORE Jail in Des Moines on August 13th. He is no longer on DOC supervision. FUGITIVE WANTED IN KING COUNTY September 12, 2014 --  This top fugitive made headlines for his barrage of beatings and robbings during the deadly Mardi-Gras riots in Seattle back in 2001. Terrence Goodwin had a violent crime spree that never stopped after the riots. Goodwin went to prison for three years in 2009, got out, and now he's wanted for escape in King County. He and the crew of other suspects who terrorized the crowds that night in 2001 were all caught on camera. Goodwin's the one wearing the white, round fisherman-style hat.

In the video, he lands a vicious blow that knocks the victim to the ground, then, he walks away smiling. That was one of five attacks that night. "He and a group of people began viciously attacking random strangers,” said Officer Emily Isaacs of the Department of Corrections. "They'd punch him. Once they're down on the ground, he and the group were kicking them, over and over again.” In another brutal beating that night, Goodwin hung back like a bystander at first as his buddies punched, kicked and robbed a photographer. Goodwin steps-in towards the end and picks something up from the ground. The victim was knocked unconscious, having his wallet, cell phone, and a camera stolen. “Goodwin's violent behavior did not stop at that 2001 incident,” Issacs said. “In 2004 he was convicted of assault 2 and unlawful possession of a firearm where he, he shot somebody several times as they were running away from him, they were trying to get away from him.” Goodwin is also a convicted child rapist who preyed on a 7-year-old girl. Terrance Goodwin is 31-years-old and a known gang member. He's inked with several tattoos, including Seattle's area code, "206", on the back of his neck.
