Wet and gusty weekend on tap
We already have three times our normal September rainfall, so let's add some more.
Friday will be damp and breezy, but most of the rain rolls through by midday. The mountains continue to get rain Friday afternoon, but most of the lowlands will dry out.
Saturday will be wet for all and wind gusts will get up to around 35 mph. The lowlands get rain, but the heaviest amounts will be up in the mountains.
There could be 5 inches of rain for the mountains over the weekend. The lowlands will pick up around an inch with up to 2 inches for Olympia, Everett and the Eastside.
Sunday will be damp with wind gusts up to 45 mph. The strongest winds will be up north and at the coast. Area rivers will rise but major flooding is not expected. I’d say the usual rivers like the Skokomish River in Mason County will flood by Saturday evening. Once again -- a rainy and windy weekend on tap. Walter. 9/26/13
