White pass closed, but not for snow
YAKIMA -- Highway 12 remained closed early morning Thursday due to a washout east of White Pass, Washington State Department of Transportation officials said.
The road was closed form the junction of Highway 12 near State Route 123 to Milepost 183 near the Oak Creek feeding station. Local access from west of the summit can go Eastbound from the closure near Milepost 138 to the summit. From east of the summit local traffic can go westbound from the closure near Milepost 183 to the junction of US 12 and the Teiton Road.
Crews haven't started repairing the roadway, and are still assessing options. An estimated opening has not yet been determined.
Alternate routes are available on Highway 410.
