Woman pleads guilty in man's death following illicit enlargement procedure
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey woman has pleaded guilty to causing a man's death by injecting silicone into his penis.
NJ.com reports that 38-year-old Kasia Rivera of East Orange admitted Tuesday to delivering the silicone injection that killed Justin Street in May 2011.
Authorities say Street went to Rivera's home so she could inject his penis with silicone, which he hoped would enlarge it. A medical examiner determined that the 22-year-old East Orange man died of a silicone embolism and ruled the death a homicide.
Rivera acknowledged that she wasn't a trained doctor or licensed to administer the injection.
Prosecutors have agreed to recommend a sentence of five years in state prison. A judge told Rivera she could also be deported back to Jamaica.
Her sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 19.
