Sounders FC advance on PK's past RSL in U.S. Open Cup play

SEATTLE -- After 120 minutes of play it came down to penalty kicks between the Seattle Sounders FC and REAL Salt Lake in the 5th round of the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Tyler Miller made two huge saves as Erik Friberg hit the game winner to push the Sounders through to the next round 4-1 in PK's.

The match was tied at one-one following regulation. Nelson Valdez scored in the second half to level the match. The Sounders return to Seattle Wednesday before a quick turn around Thursday to head to Toronto for their next MLS match Saturday.
