As the Jan. 6 investigation continues, there have been more than 1,000 arrests and hundreds of people sentenced for their roles in the violence at the U.S. Capitol in 2021.

Three years after the attack on the U.S. Capitol, Washington’s federal courthouse is flooded with trials, guilty plea hearings and sentencings. And the hunt for suspects is far from over.

Sentencing for Enrique Tarrio has been delayed until next week. Prosecutors are seeking 33 years in jail for Tarrio, a top target in one of the most important Capitol riot cases prosecuted by the Justice Department.

The former Proud Boys leader was convicted of seditious conspiracy. The sentence, if imposed, would be the longest punishment that has been handed down in the massive prosecution of the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021.

Prosecutors with special counsel Jack Smith’s team asked a judge on Thursday to set a Jan. 2 trial date for former President Donald Trump in the case charging him with plotting to overturn his 2020 election loss.

A St. Louis Cardinals mega-fan known as “Rally Runner” has been arrested on charges that he joined a mob’s attack on the U.S. Capitol and used a stolen shield to help other rioters attack police officers.

Trump says he anticipates being arrested and indicted soon.
