Seattle mayoral race could go to a recount

As more ballots are being counted in the Washington general election, the Seattle mayoral race is looking like it will head to a recount after Katie Wilson took a late lead.

While the first batch of election results put incumbent Bruce Harrell more than 7% ahead of challenger Katie Wilson, more results published by election officials in Seattle have the race split by about 51-49 in Harrell's favor. Later ballot returns typically trend more progressive, increasing Wilson's odds of victory. However, it is too early to say if it will be enough to reach victory for her candidacy.
