We made it through the middle of the week!  And what nice day for the region under partly sunny skies to start with clouds pushing in as we close out the night.  This, especially helpful for folks in the North Sound dealing with flooding in Whatcom and Skagit Counites where river levels are finally receding.  

Some families in Skagit County are returning home for the first time after severe flooding from the Skagit River. 

Residents of Sumas were assessing damage from flooding that hit an estimated 75% of homes, as Washington and British Columbia tried to dry out from an intense, days-long rain storm that cut off key roadways and forced hundreds of evacuations.

After a very chilly start for many around the Puget Sound area, Wednesday will bring increasing clouds but stay dry.

The only road that leads to Skagit River Ranch is Utopia Road, and it remained cut off by floodwaters on Tuesday.

Gov. Jay Inslee declared a severe weather state of emergency for several counties after heavy rainfall caused floods and mudslides, and closed roadways.

Thousands of people on Whidbey Island have been dealing with the effects of power outages, caused by weather, since Monday

A baby was among four children and six adults rescued by the Coast Guard near Forks on Monday as floods hit Washington state.

Crews are working to clear the roadway after authorities had to shut down Interstate 5 in Bellingham through at least Tuesday morning due to "flooding and active slides."

The rain has stopped for now and that will certainly help our overflowing rivers, especially in the North Sound where extensive flooding is still happening.   

Everson Mayor John Perry said the city is working to restore power outages and water treatment as they handle historic flooding.
