Rising rivers Friday, another round of heavy rain this weekend

Heavy rain will taper off in the lowlands Friday afternoon, but some Western Washington rivers will rise to moderate or major flood stage by this evening.

It's downright sloppy out there and will stay this way through Friday mid-day before we get a much-needed break.  We'll continue to see rain totals jump over the next 12-18 hours while we're under a "Weather Alert".   As of 5pm Thursday, here's a look at some of the numbers for select cities around the region.

We are in for a sloppy close to the work week as another atmospheric river slams into Washington delivering heavy rain and wind Thursday into Friday.  And this why the FOX 13 Weather Team is calling for a Weather Alert.  The of the rain and wind will happen Thursday afternoon into early Friday morning.

We expect sharp rises on local rivers with the potential for small streams overflowing creating urban flooding in low-lying areas, roadways, underpasses, and poor drainage areas.
