Authorities say Snoqualmie Pass has received the highest snowfall in 20 years as of January 3.

The winter skiing and snowboarding season on at Stevens Pass ski resort east of Everett, Washington, has gotten off to a rough start with the area opening only about half its terrain amid a staffing shortage.

Buckle up for yet another round of lowland and mountain snow in the days ahead! Many communities are also waking up to black ice.

While rain melted snow in some parts of King County, in North Bend and other locations with higher elevations, the snow continued to fall on Sunday and Monday.

One person was hospitalized early Tuesday morning after a multi-car crash in Tacoma. 

We're already getting multiple reports of black ice forming across Western Washington at this hour. 

Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass has re-opened after being closed for 18 hours because of heavy snow and avalanche danger.

Two 19-year-old men who went winter camping were rescued near Eugene, Oregon, by the U.S. Coast Guard after signaling for help by writing an "SOS" sign in the snow.

The mountains are getting slammed by intense snow today. The Cascade foothills, the Everett area and the Hood Canal were also the target of Mother Nature overnight. In fact, between 9-12 inches of snow stacked up in North Bend!

It has been an active night! Moderate/heavy rain developed this evening which melted a lot of snow. 

1"-2" of snow accumulation will be possible across parts of the lowlands (especially elevations around 500'). Most of this will take place overnight, and we should start to clear out just in time for that early morning commute. However, it'll continue to be sloppy out there so give yourself plenty of time for your drive out.

Waste collection was called off in several neighborhoods after Seattle was buried under a blanket of snow. Warmer temperatures are only just starting to melt that snow, but in the meantime, garbage might be piling up for people who have not had theirs picked up by the city.
