Happy Friday! It was toasty out there. Once again, temperatures peaked in the lower 90s. Luckily for us we weren't dealing with record breaking heat! However, we were closer to our record highs than our normal high of 79 degrees.

President Joe Biden is sounding the alarm about the need for more resources to fight a series of wildfires in western states, as climate change has worsened the spread and ferocity of the blazes.

Weather Alert Day: Heat Advisory issued through Saturday

There is a Heat Advisory through Saturday evening for the East Puget Sound Lowlands of Pierce, King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom Counties, as well as the South Sound, for hot afternoon highs and warm overnight lows.

The heat continues tomorrow as the Weather Alert Day is extended

Happy Thursday! Highs continue to rise this afternoon. Highs will peak in the lower 90 for most of us. This will be extended into tomorrow as highs climb into the mid-90s for some of us and a heat advisory will go into effect!

Wildfires continue burning across Washington state

Cedar Creek fire remains at 13% containment while the Cub Creek 2 fire is now 18% contained. Chuweah Creek fire is now at 85% containment. The largest fire in Washington, the Lick Creek fire, is now 90% contained.

Tsunami warning lifted after 8.2 earthquake off coast of Alaska

A tsunami warning and advisory issued for parts of Alaska after a large earthquake struck off the coast of the peninsula was lifted early Thursday morning.

Heatwave expected in southwest Washington, northwest Oregon

Heat and wildfire danger is expected starting Thursday throughout northwestern Oregon, including Portland, and southwest Washington, weather officials said.

Weather Alert Day:  Near 90 Friday then cooling back down with a chance of T-Storms Sunday.

We are tracking the heat!  Highs will warm into the upper 80s Thursday with Friday near 90 in Seattle and that is why there is a "Weather Alert Day" for Western WA. Farther south and east highs will jump into the mid 90s.
