Apartment Sex Predator: Teen says he came in through unlocked door -- sexually assaulted her
WANTED IN KENT -- Kent police are on the hunt for a man accused of sneaking into an East Hill apartment -- and sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl on Aug. 6. According to police, the man entered the apartment through an unlocked front door and forced the teen into a bedroom. Detectives said the suspect pointed a knife at her, pushed her on a bed and forcibly kissed her before a noise spooked him and he ran. Kent police have compiled a good sketch of the suspect and said no similar attacks have been reported. The apartment was located at the Village of Lake Meridian complex in Kent's East Hill area. The suspect is described as a white man, about 28 years old, with dark hair, light-colored eyes, a thick build and small bump on his nose. He has a Yin and Yang tattoo on his left forearm and was wearing a red bandana. The girl said "We need to get this guy -- we need to get him off the streets quick. He was bold. He walked into this residence without care, and brandished the knife, and our concern is, he's going to get worse and he's going to do something more violent," Kent police detective Melanie Frazier. "The victim also mentioned that he had a foul smell of body odor and he was unkempt and dirty, making us think that possibly he's a transient in the area," Frazier said.
