Counterfeit check crooks: Edmonds Police hope woman's hot pink hair is big clue to help you identify her, two other suspects

EDMONDS COUNTERFEIT CROOKSWANTED IN EDMONDS --
Edmonds police are hoping a woman's hot pink hair is a big clue to help you identify her.

She's one of three suspects who need to be named after detectives say they used several counterfeit checks with an Edmonds victim's account.

"The female we're looking for is probably 30's to 40's. We don't really know, it's kind of hard to tell from the video, but she does have distinctive pink hair and she's wearing a gray sweatshirt in both videos,” says Edmonds Police Sgt. Shane Hawley. “She's been seen with a middle-aged man wearing a red jacket. The two of them entered a Lowe's store within minutes of each other and each cashed separate checks."

They took off from the Lowe's in Monroe in a white, 2-door car that has a very distinctive racing stripe all the way down the driver's side that's black or dark blue.

The third suspect cashed a phony check at the Work and More store in Everett. The quality of the camera pointed down at the register isn't great, but detectives really want you to hone-in on his hat. "We noticed that both gentlemen, two separate incidents on different days, appear to be wearing the same hat and it's a black hat that says ‘Army’ in big white letters across the top. So, it looks like these people probably know each other, or are connected somehow."

Detectives think the same younger male suspect wearing the same ‘Army’ hat and a red jacket who passed bogus checks at Lowe's the day after the older man and woman did.

Detectives say it's a mystery how they preyed on the victim. "We have no idea at this point how her identity got stolen. Her checking account was compromised, but she still has her checkbook. If they're out there doing this to her, they're probably out there doing it to other people and that's a nightmare to deal with this sort of identity theft and check fraud, you know, just hampers you from months trying to clear up your name and your accounts."
