Luis Martinez: Hunt for accused kidnapper; sex assault suspect shuts down grocery store
WANTED IN RENTON -- The hunt for accused kidnapper and sexual assault suspect, Luis Martinez, created an all-out panic in a grocery store in Kirkland on Wednesday. Cops put a Safeway store in lockdown while they swept it looking for Martinez. Renton police say he pulled a gun on the mother of his kids and took her hostage in her car, forcing her to drive around -- and even sexually assaulting her during the ordeal. She escaped when they stopped at the Safeway. Martinez already had a warrant for forgery out of Snohomish County and now he's wanted for kidnapping, rape and auto theft. "At one point during her horrible experience, he did press the gun against her side,” says Terri Vickers with the Renton Police Department. "They have known each other for a while, and this was not the first contact we've had with her, over domestic violence incidents with Mr. Martinez." Police say Martinez drained the victim's bank account before disappearing. He's 25 years old, has tattoos on the sides of his neck you can see in his photo, and is considered 'armed and dangerous’.
