Mostly dry weather predicted in Seattle into mid-January

If you’re enjoying the mostly dry weather, you’ll be thrilled to see our latest seven-day forecast. However, if you’re craving cozy rain – or snow in the high country – Mother Nature will be a disappointment this week.

We’re forecasting mainly dry weather for at least the next week (if not the next two weeks!). Stay tuned because this forecast could change.

Black ice and freezing fog are also possible in some Washington areas.

This week will turn rather frigid. You’ll notice that the most when it comes to the weather. The mornings and evenings will be cold. Lows will tumble to the 30s each morning. Many communities will experience temperatures plunging below freezing.

The weather in Seattle will be mostly cloudy and primarily dry the next few days.

Make sure to carve out extra time in your morning routine this week to scrape your windshield. Also, make sure to dress in warm layers. Gloves, beanies and warm jackets are recommended :)

Many of the mornings this week could feature fog – even freezing fog. Like freezing rain, freezing fog produces tiny supercooled liquid water droplets that can freeze instantly on roads and sidewalks.

Bridges and overpasses are especially vulnerable to icing over. If you see fog this week, assume it may create black ice. Take it easy on the roads and drive safely!

Once the fog lifts, the afternoons this week will offer varying amounts of sunshine. Friday and Saturday are looking mostly sunny all day long.

Quiet weather continues in Seattle this week.
