Ice causes several crashes on I-405 in Bellevue, Renton
Icy road conditions on western Washington roadways caused at least 11 accidents on I-405 from Renton to Bellevue.
SEATTLE - Icy roads and snow in some areas were causing traffic delays, flight delays and other disruptions Tuesday in western Washington. There were also many school delays and closures to be aware of.

I-405 South reopens over I-90 in Bellevue

The Washington State Patrol said at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday that southbound I-405 was being shut down over I-90 in Bellevue because of road conditions.
According to Trooper Rick Johnson, the Washington State Department of Transportation was on the way to deice the road
WSDOT said there were multiple crashes in the area and crews were at the scene. Drivers are asked to slow down and continue to expect icy conditions.
The road reopened later in the morning.
Northbound I-405 in Renton blocked after semi crash

NB I-405 closed after semi rollover in Renton, WA
Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson said traffic is being diverted off the exit to SR 169, and there is no time estimation of when the roadway will be cleared.
A semi-truck rollover crash and fire is blocking all but one lane of northbound I-405 in Renton.
As of 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, one lane had reopened but backups were several miles long and growing. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Rollover crash on I-90 West
Tropper Johnson said around 7:40 a.m. that there was a one-car rollover crash on westbound I-90 near milepost 35. The vehicle landed upside down in an embankment just east of North Bend. It was unclear if there were any injuries.

Tracking lowland snow in western WA
FOX 13 Meteorologist Abby Acone is in Bellevue tracking lowland snow.
Dozens of flights at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport were delayed or canceled on Tuesday morning.
Snow and icy conditions at SEA Airport caused 73 flight delays and 21 cancelations on Tuesday, according to FlightAware at 8:00 a.m.

Seattle weather: Showers to become more limited Tuesday afternoon
Showers will become more limited on Tuesday afternoon. We may even see some sunshine in the mix. Highs will remain chilly, in the mid to upper 30s.
The Cascade mountain passes in Washington were mostly covered in compact snow and ice on Tuesday morning.
