Seattle weather: Dry, sunny and partly cloudy for Friday
Temperatures early Friday will be well below freezing, into the mid 20s. But during the day it will get to the low 40s out on the coast and upper 30s elsewhere.
SEATTLE - The Puget Sound area will get a brief break from wintry precipitation on Friday with partly sunny skies expected for the afternoon.
Friday morning, most are seeing very chilly temperatures down into the 20s. Roads could be icy during the morning commute, but will thaw again heading into midday and the afternoon. High temperatures on Friday will be back into the upper 30s and low 40s.

What we know:
The next chance for lowland snow arrives early Saturday morning as a weak system pushes into the Puget Sound area. Temperatures should be cold enough for sticking snow on the roads, but accumulations are looking like they will be less than an inch. Be prepared for slick roads in spots if you are getting an early start on Saturday morning.

By the numbers:
Showers will taper off in the lowlands by midday Saturday, but 2 to 4 inches of fresh powder is expected in the mountains through the early afternoon.
Drier and even cooler conditions will stick around through the middle of next week. The next chance for wintry precipitation is next Thursday.
