1 killed, 1 arrested in Spanaway, WA shooting
SPANAWAY, Wash. - Pierce County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a homicide that happened in Spanaway on Monday.
Deputies say a deadly shooting occurred at a home on 165th Street East. The caller stated a man had been shot by another man who fled the scene.
The victim was located and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies arrested the suspect at a different location, adding there is no ongoing threat to the public.
"This is a very unfortunate event for this time of year, for loved ones and family members all involved, this is definitely not something anyone should have to experience this time of the year," said Pierce County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Carly Cappetto.
It's still being determined what led up to the shooting. Detectives haven't figured out if the suspect and victim knew each other.
Deputies are still interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.
