Family pleads for answers in unsolved Kent, WA murder
KENT, Wash. - The mother of Demetrius Marquel Marr-Woods, a 27-year-old man who was shot and killed outside Cloud 9 Bar earlier this month, is pleading for answers as she mourns his death.
Alisia Marr expressed her anguish over the loss of her son, who was killed on December 8.
"I need answers behind my son's murder," said Marr. "He wasn’t involved in any illegal activity. He was a family man. He was a role model for my other children."
Kent police reported that they responded to multiple 911 calls about a shooting on the night of Dec. 8. When they arrived, they found Marr-Woods with a gunshot wound to the head.

Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead over the weekend in Kent.
"I need justice for Marquel," said his mother. "This was his first time at the bar. A young lady had invited him to this bar."
FOX 13 confirmed with staff that they had never seen Marr-Woods prior to that night.
As for the shooting, the business repeatedly told FOX 13 it couldn’t comment, adding the owner would reach out to us. We’ve yet to hear from the owner.
"To whoever pulled the trigger, you need to turn yourselves in," pleased Marr. "You took someone from their family."
FOX 13 has reached out to Kent Police for an update on the investigation, but have yet to hear back.
The family believes there was another shooting in the parking lot of the bar 15 minutes before their loved one was killed. Kent police have yet to confirm this information.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Kent Police.
The family has also hired a lawyer who is conducting their own investigation.
