3 arrested in narcotics operations in Seattle's Chinatown-International District

Seattle Police announced three recent arrests made during two narcotics operations in the Chinatown-International District, the latest in a recent series of stings in the neighborhood.

Two arrests were made on Monday, Jan. 6, after bike officers said they observed multiple drug transactions near 12th Avenue and South King Street.

Officers moved in and arrested two men allegedly selling drugs. One had a loaded 9mm handgun, a half-gram of fentanyl powder, and $87 in his possession, police say.

The 49-year-old was identified as a convicted felon, and was booked into King County Jail for possession of narcotics and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The second man, a 40-year-old, allegedly had 18 grams of methamphetamine and $504 in cash on him. He was booked into jail on narcotics charges.

The third arrest happened on Saturday, Jan. 11, near where the other two men were arrested.

Seattle police say a 56-year-old woman was observed conducting several narcotics transactions around 4:30 p.m., during a surveillance operation.

Officers arrested the woman as she entered a nearby business, where they recovered 8.5 grams of fentanyl powder and $1,288 in cash. The fentanyl powder was packaged in 65 individual bundles.

She was later booked into jail on narcotics charges.

Seattle police are continuing their narcotics operations in the Chinatown-International District, as recent stings resulted in 21 different arrests.
