Woman seeks to reunite photos with rightful owners
EVERETT, Wash. -- An Arlington woman is on a mission to reunite hundreds of family photos with their rightful owner. And as it turns out, some of those pictures include a face that's known around the world.
“I don't want something that’s memorable to someone to be lost forever,” says Brenda Roberson.
Brenda came across hundreds of family photos while shopping in Everett on Tuesday.
“At the Goodwill outlet, dumped. I just really feel that that was a mistake,” says Brenda.
She says she couldn't help but purchase every single one, in the hope of reuniting them with their rightful family. After carefully looking over the photos, there's one clue that could help solve this puzzle.
“In looking at the pictures, there's one common person in most of the pictures and that would be Barbara. She's an aunt, she's a mother, she's a sister, a cousin, she's somebody's relative and there's got to be somebody out there that recognizes her,” says Brenda.
If the handwriting on the back indeed belongs to Barbara, she's documented her travels extensively, even meeting Pope John Paul in 1999.
Brenda is hoping by sharing these family photos, someone will come forward to claim the memories.
Until then, Brenda is keeping the photos safe, as if they were her own.
“I cherish every photograph that I have and I want somebody else to be able to do the same,” says Brenda.
