Brush fire breaks out near I-5

SEATTLE - A brush fire broke out off I-5 on Saturday, a surprise to many drivers making their way down the freeway.

The fire is just a quarter-mile from the Rainier Avenue S. exit, right in front of Dr. Jose Rizal Park.

A large plume of smoke could be seen from the freeway, despite damp weather conditions.

The fire has since been put out.
