1 injured in encampment fire above I-5 in Seattle

Seattle police are investigating what caused a brush fire above the off-ramp of I-5 Friday morning.

Crews responded to a report of an encampment fire before 5:30 a.m. above the James Street off-ramp. 

The fire was about 100 feet by 50 feet and it spread to several trees, tarps and tents. 

Crews found one person injured in the fire. 

Fire officials said it did not spread up to Harborview Medical Center.

The cause of is unknown.
