Participate in winter activities on Snoqualmie Pass

If you're looking for a fun and easy winter day trip from Seattle that the whole family will enjoy, the Summit Tubing Park at the Summit at Snoqualmie features a 500-foot hill with a 40-foot vertical drop. A covered conveyor lifts riders to the top, where they can ride down one of 18 tubing lanes.

The Summit at Snoqualmie opened a couple of weeks ago, and the tubing park offers timed tickets. Visit the park's website to purchase tickets before you head up.

Want to add a ski day to your tubing adventure? Here's everything to know about ski resorts and ticket information.

Get your grunge and nature on in Aberdeen

Just two hours south of Seattle, this town famously boasts the childhood home of Washington grunge legend Kurt Cobain.

After a visit to the nostalgic home, head for a dose of nature at nearby Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge.

Explore the quaint town of Ilwaco

This coastal town is great for anyone looking for a day full of quant shopping, eating at great restaurants and enjoying ocean views.

While North Head Lighthouse at Cape Disappointment may be closed for the season, the views are still stunning around it to take in between activities.

From bookshops to yoga studios, the destination is just about three hours south of Seattle and will keep you and your crew as busy or as relaxed as you want.

Extend your Christmas season in Leavenworth

Whether you take the Amtrak train from Seattle to Icicle Station, or hop in the car for a drive to Leavenworth, there will still be plenty to see and do once you arrive.

The Christmastown Village of Lights stays up every day from Thanksgiving all the way through the end of February. So, even with the holidays over, you can still enjoy the spirit on cold days.

Visit the wineries in Lake Chelan

Known for getting more sun than the Seattle metro area, this could be your chance at a getaway to soak in the winter rays and shake off the city blues.

Even with winter weather, you can still enjoy a little nature by hitting Echo Ridge Recreation Area for snowshoeing, or have a cozy day inside at one of the area's many wineries.

Lake Chelan Winterfest takes place every January and includes ice and fire activities held over two weekends. Enjoy ice carving, a beach bonfire and fireworks, plus sip local wines, dance to live music and more.

This year's Lake Chelan Winterfest runs on the weekends, Jan. 17-26.
