Familiar, and loud, Hawks face to promote CenturyLink
SEATTLE -- Outspoken Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman plans to use his way with words to promote high school athletes and a telecommunications company this season.
CenturyLink, Inc., announced a one-year endorsement deal with Sherman. The one-year contract will put Sherman as the spokesperson for the CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week -- broadcast weekly on Q13 FOX News -- and place Sherman as the spokesperson for an upcoming marketing campaign in the Seattle area, CenturyLink said.
The CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week program, presented in partnership with the Seattle Seahawks, launched Aug. 13. Each week, Sherman will feature a single Washington State high school fall sports athlete, recognizing him or her for outstanding performance both on and off the field.
"I couldn't be more excited to join forces with CenturyLink to help bring awareness around the incredibly talented youth we have here in the state of Washington," Sherman said.
Shermam will also appear in local Seattle market television and radio commercials, outdoor billboards, as well as online, print and social media promotions, CenturyLink said. The new campaign will be centered around the theme of "Home Field. Home Team. Home Internet," CenturyLink said.
CenturyLink is headquartered in Monroe, La. Sherman is a Stanford graduate and an All-Pro cornerback who has played for the Hawks since 2011.
