Wildfires cause delays on I-90 near Cle Elum, WA
Several fires are burning on the shoulder and median of I-90 between Cle Elum and Easton, causing delays for westbound traffic as crews respond to the scene.
CLE ELUM, Wash. - Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass is back open after several wildfires broke out along the freeway Monday afternoon.
What we know:
The fires sparked around 3 p.m., initially causing traffic backups near Cle Elum.

At around 4 p.m., I-90 was fully shut down between Easton and Ellensburg due to heavy smoke causing poor visibility for drivers.
Multiple firefighting agencies, including air support, responded to the fires. It was quickly contained, and no evacuations were issued.
The freeway reopened in both directions at 5:20 p.m.
What we don't know:
The cause of the fires is under investigation.
