Homicide investigation launched after shooting in Everett, WA
EVERETT, Wash. - Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Everett Monday night.
According to the Everett Police Department (EPD), around 11:30 p.m., officers were called to assist firefighters responding to reports of a man down near the corner of Highland Avenue and 18th Street. This area is just south of the Senator Henry M. Jackson Park baseball fields.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his 50s with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and Major Crimes Unit detectives began the homicide investigation.
According to the EPD, witnesses said they thought they heard fireworks before police arrived.
Officers at the scene found numerous shell casings and collected them for evidence.
Authorities say the investigation remains active. No suspects have been identified at this time.
