Olympia woman receives large UNICEF shipment by mistake
OLYMPIA -- If you need a trick-or-treat bag, you might want to ask Griffin School District parent Ellen Rice.
She got an extra 20,000 'Trick or Treat for UNICEF' boxes and she's trying to get them to children before Halloween.
According to The Olympian, Rice ordered a smaller number of boxes for her school's Fall Festival last weekend.
Children used the boxes to collect coins for UNICEF that can be donated through Coinstar Machines throughout Thurston County.
There was some mistake at UNICEF, so Rice was surprised to find 20,000 extra boxes on her doorstep this Monday.
A couple of local schools already picked up some of the boxes, but there are still plenty available.
