Salt & Straw to open new Seattle scoop shop on Queen Anne
SEATTLE - Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood is getting a sweet new addition this year as Salt & Straw Ice Cream has announced plans for a new scoop shop there.
Known for its inventive flavors and partnerships with local artisans, the Portland-based, family-run company continues its expansion in the Pacific Northwest, where its roots run deep.
Founded by cousins Kim and Tyler Malek, Salt & Straw has been serving award-winning ice cream for over 13 years. The Queen Anne shop will be the fourth Salt & Straw location in the Seattle area, joining the company’s existing locations in Ballard, Capitol Hill and Totem Lake.
"Queen Anne is a special neighborhood," said Kim Malek, co-founder and CEO. "Its rich history, unique charm, and deep sense of connection make it the perfect place for our next scoop shop location in Seattle. We’re so excited to join the Queen Anne community and bring a little joy to the neighborhood, one scoop at a time!"
The Queen Anne location, situated at 2201 Queen Anne Ave. N., will occupy a 1,310-square-foot space and operate daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
With plans to hire approximately 20 local employees, Salt & Straw emphasizes creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. The company actively supports individuals facing employment barriers, including members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, people with disabilities and those with backgrounds in the criminal justice system.

The Queen Anne shop is slated to become a neighborhood favorite, continuing Salt & Straw’s mission to make life a little sweeter — one scoop at a time.
