Serial flasher gets naked, runs after car at Jack in the Box

SEATTLE -- A man arrested for running toward a car while naked on Aug. 11 at a Jack in the Box drive-thru has exposed himself before, Seattle police said.
David Mesford, 61, is being charged with indecent exposure with sexual motivation. He has four previous convictions for indecent exposure.
According to court documents, a family of four was driving through a Jack in the Box drive-thru in the 8500 block of Aurora Avenue N. around 3:35 a.m. Aug. 11 when they spotted Mesford naked and running toward their car. Mesford was allegedly aroused and waved at the family -- which included two young girls -- as he ran.
Fearing for their safety, the family called police and left the Jack in the Box. They later returned to confirm Mesford was the man who flashed them, police said.
Police spotted Mesford's car a short distance away from the restaurant and pulled him over. Mesford, only wearing a t-shirt, allegedly admitted to exposing himself to the family, saying that he does it as a way to "excite" people. Mesford claimed he typically exposed himself in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, where his actions were generally "accepted and even encouraged" Mesford told Police.
Mesford was arrested and booked into King County Jail. His bail was set at $15,000.
