Spring 2013 ends tonight
SEATTLE -- Today was an appropriate send-off to spring 2013 with all this light rain.
Spring ended up really wet, with 2.5 inches more than normal at a total of 8.75” for that 91-day period. Most of it came in April, as that was the second wettest on record.
The Summer Solstice is at 10:04 p.m. Thursday.
This marks the longest days of the year with 16 hours of daylight today and Friday. Starting tomorrow, we lose 3 minutes of daylight per day as we truck back to only 8 hours of daylight on the 20th of December. So enjoy all this daylight.
The weather forecast calls for light rain through Friday morning. Heaviest rain will be north of Seattle. Friday afternoon will be nice with some hazy sunshine and highs closer to 69.
Saturday will be a nice day. Sunday starts out pretty good but should get some rain later in the day. Next week it looks more typical with lots of clouds and some passing showers. I guess it’ll be another one of those “summer starts on the 5th of July in Seattle”.
