Stolen poodle returned to owners after deadly police shooting near Enumclaw

KING COUNTY, Wash. – Undercover King County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a suspect Monday who was driving a truck that was stolen last week with a poodle inside.

The Ford Raptor and a 4-year-old poodle named ‘Monkey’ were stolen from a gas station in Black Diamond last Friday.

Undercover deputies located the stolen truck along Veazie Cumberland Road SE near Enumclaw around noon and tried to make contact with the driver.

As the detectives approached, authorities say the suspect, only identified as a man in his 30s, repeatedly rammed their SUV and deputies say they were forced to shoot him.

Monkey was found without any injuries and deputies returned the dog to its owners. The detectives suffered cuts on their hands but will make a full recovery.

The shooting is under investigation by the Seattle Police Department.
