Storm system on the way
SEATTLE -- The first weekend of November will come in like a lion (I know, it’s not March). Scattered rain and gusty winds will move into the area tonight, producing heavy downpours at times. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for the Coast and Admiralty Area tomorrow as winds are expected to be between 25 mph and 40 mph, with gusts as high as 60 mph. In Puget Sound those winds will be between 15 mph and 25 mph, with higher gusts possible.
There is a chance of downed trees and power lines with this storm so having flashlights, blankets and a few supplies ready to go isn’t a bad idea just in case. Snow levels will drop to about 2,500 feet by tomorrow night so up to 14 inches of snow is expected on Mount Baker and about 6 inches or so for Stevens Pass.
Daytime highs will drop as cold air behind this strong front starts to settle into the area. Highs tomorrow will be near 52 degrees, but will drop into the upper 40s by Monday.
