US-2 reopens after crash near Stevens Pass

Both directions of US-2 closed for several hours Tuesday following a crash 14 miles east of the Stevens Pass summit, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

U.S. Route 2 was completely shut down to traffic in both directions from about 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The crash happened at milepost 78, which is about 14 miles east of the Stevens Pass summit.

The highway reopened Tuesday afternoon and traffic is getting through. Drivers should expect minor delays.

What we don't know:

It is not yet clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash or what caused it. Officials have not released information regarding potential injuries or any visuals from the scene.
