Washington's largest pickleball court coming to Seattle
SEATTLE - Players of pickleball, the official sport of Washington, living in the greater-Seattle area have two new reasons to celebrate.
In addition to the opening of the first dedicated indoor pickleball facility in the metro area, there is an even larger one planned in South Seattle.
Side Out Pickleball Centers has opened in Mukilteo near Paine Field. This is, for now, the only solely indoor-pickleball facility in the region. The company has bigger plans, however.
Side Out Mukilteo features eight championship cushioned courts and lighting used by the top professional pickleball and tennis facilities nationwide.
"It's hard to believe the Seattle metro area hasn't had a dedicated indoor pickleball-exclusive facility until now…the demand is huge" said Dale Garnett, co-founding partner of Side Out Pickleball Centers.
Looking ahead, the Side Out Tsunami Pickleball Center in South Seattle will be the largest in Washington when completed. It is described as a state-of-the-art 26-court indoor facility. The Side Out courts are set to open in the spring of 2025.
