Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo WildLanterns tickets available

Woodland Park Zoo's WildLantern experience opening date is nearing, with tickets now available for the after-hours event lighting up animal displays around the property. 

The holiday experience will kick off on Friday, Nov. 14 and run through January 18, 2026. The zoo will close regular operations at 3 p.m. and reopen for the lantern experience at 4 p.m. Attendees may stay until 9 p.m. Latest entry allowed is 8:30 p.m.

Displays include representations of desert flora, Northwestern animals, and more. Organizers say they include birds, monkeys, unicorns, and fairies.

Where is the WildLanters event at Woodland Park Zoo?

There will be special sensory friendly nights, senior walks, and others this winter season. Guests can enter through the South Entrance if they already have tickets or West Entrance if they still need to purchase at the door.

  • West Entrance: 5500 Phinney Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98103Cross streets: Phinney Ave. N. between N. 55th and N. 56th St.
  • South Entrance: 750 N. 50th Street, Seattle, WA 98103Located on N. 50th Street and accessed by the Hippo parking lot. Near the African Savanna exhibit.

Ticket options

You can select the day and time for your Wild Lanterns tickets on the Woodland Park ticketing page. The costs start at $34.95 and go up to $50.95. Kids aged 2 and under are free.

Regular admission for children aged 3–12 is $45.95 and anyone 13 and up will be $50.95.

The display days are family friendly. However, the zoo is offering a "Night Owls" 21 and over ticket option for the second year. Those are either $32.45 or $34.95 and require an ID for entry.

The dates for the 21+ event are 

  • Saturday, Nov. 22
  • Friday, Dec. 12
  • Friday, Jan. 2

Zoo members will receive a 20% discount off tickets. Since the event is a fundraiser, the zoo says additional discounts such as military, senior, and those for people with disabilities will not be applied.
