SEATTLE - After a day of defections, the Seattle Seahawks locked down one of their biggest free-agent question marks.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported that cornerback Jeremy Lane would remain with the Seahawks.

Rapoport reported that the deal with be for four years.

The Seahawks later confirmed with this tweet that Lane would be re-signed.

Lane, who was primarily used a nickel corner for much of his career in Seattle, will likely get the starting job opposite Richard Sherman in the Seahawks' base package.

Seattle drafted Lane out of Northwestern State in the sixth round of the draft.

Lane is perhaps best known for a play that was both the highlight and low point of his career. In the first quarter of Super Bowl XLIX, he picked of a Tom Brady pass in the end zone, but tore an ACL and badly broke his wrist when he hit the ground.

Earlier in the day, the Seahawks lost nose tackle Brandon Mebane to the San Diego Chargers, outside linebacker Bruce Irvin to the Oakland Raiders and offensive guard J.R. Sweezy to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Seahawks also announced they tendered eight of their exclusive rights free agents: Marcus Burley, A.J. Francis, Cooper Helfet, Eric Pinkins, Mohammed Seisay, DeShawn Shead and Steven Terrell.
