Seattle Seahawks RB Ken Walker III doubtful to play vs. Packers with calf injury

Running back Ken Walker III was unable to practice with the Seattle Seahawks this week and is listed as doubtful to play Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers due to a calf injury.

Walker would be sidelined for a second straight week if he's unable to play Sunday night.

"He hasn't practiced yet, so we've listed him as doubtful," head coach Mike Macdonald said. "That's probably the best way to explain it. And then anything can happen between now and the game, but I'd say doubtful right now.

"Yeah, there's progress, without getting into all of the details, but yeah, there's progress."

Zach Charbonnet and Kenny McIntosh would again step up into the top running back roles in Walker's absence. Charbonnet won the NFL Ground Player of the Week award for his performance last Sunday against the Cardinals.

"Keep building, keep running it tough, take care of the rock, finishing runs, doing what he does, you know, catching the balls out of the backfield, doing a great job of protection. He's done that the whole season.

Macdonald also implied George Holani will be elevated from the practice squad for additional depth at the position as he was last week in Arizona.

In addition to Walker, the Seahawks ruled out a trio of players in cornerback Tre Brown, tight end Brady Russell and safety Jerrick Reed II.

Macdonald said Brown's hamstring injury isn't something that could require a move to injured reserve, but did seem to hint at such moves possibly coming for Russell and Reed.

"We'll see on those two guys. So maybe make an announcement here in the next day or two on those guys," Macdonald said.

Russell missed two games after the bye week due to the same foot injury. He's been able to play the last two weeks, but seemingly re-aggravated the issue this week.

Reed played Sunday against the Cardinals, but has been unable to practice this week with a quadriceps injury.

It appears unlikely that any of the three players eligible to return from injured reserve this week will be activated to play. Tackle Stone Forsythe (hand) and safety K'Von Wallace (ankle) have been ruled out, while cornerback Artie Burns (toe) joins Walker as doubtful.

Forsythe will need to be activated from injured reserve next week if he's going to play again this season as his three-week practice window will end. Wallace and Burns are each in the first week of their practice window to get back on the roster.
