Fast-moving wildfires raced through Eastern Washington over the weekend, burning homes and prompting evacuation orders for thousands of people in small rural communities.

Spokane County declares State of Emergency: Gray Fire reaches over 10,000 acres, turns deadly

The Gray Fire, burning near Medical Lake just north of Spokane, has reached 10,085 acres and is 97% contained. Evacuation orders have been downgraded, but more than 185 structures have been lost. Two people have reportedly died.

Federal officials sent a mobile morgue with coroners, pathologists and technicians to Hawaii to help identify the dead, as Maui County released the first names of people killed in the wildfire that all but incinerated the historic town of Lahaina a week ago and killed at least 106 people.
