Victims of the fast-moving brush fire at Jamestown Estates in Lakewood are continuing to pick up the pieces of their lives, little by little.

Washington is facing a forest health crisis. As a whole, the state’s 20-year forest plan calls for specialized treatments – including prescribed burns – on roughly 1.25 million acres of forest lands.

The Eagle Bluff Fire burning in Okanogan County has swelled to 10,000 acres and has crossed the U.S.-Canadian border.

Fire crews have finally contained the Newell Road Fire, which burned more than 60,000 acres about 17 miles east of Goldendale.

Under a Stage 2 burn ban, all recreational burning in the open is prohibited. This includes beach fires, bonfire pits in yards or camping areas or any other outdoor spot for fires or fireplaces.

The Mason County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) reduced evacuation orders to Level 1 (Be Ready) this week after a fire broke out near a Shelton neighborhood on July 4th. 

The Grant County and Douglas County Sheriff's Offices are urging certain residents to "go now" due to the Baird Springs Fire burning nearby. The fire is burning approximately 2,400 acres, most of which are in Grant County.

As we head into another dry weekend, two big fires continue to burn in Western Washington and hundreds of others have popped up statewide, many over the holiday weekend.  

With increasingly dry conditions and rising temperatures, the Olympic National Forest and National Park are putting campfire restrictions in place to prevent wildfires. 

Residents in Pierce County are back in their homes after evacuating from a wildfire outside of Roy on Thursday afternoon.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department has lifted a Level 3 (leave NOW) evacuation order for a neighborhood near Roy due to a brush fire.
