Seattle weather: Thunderstorm chances overnight
FOX 13 Seattle Meteorologist Claire Anderson has your latest western Washington weather forecast.
SEATTLE - Heading into the weekend, we will see cooler temperatures, a chance of showers for the Puget Sound and rumbles of thunder in the mountains. The timing of the showers starts early Saturday for the south sound and slowly moves northward into the afternoon and evening. Showers are looking to remain on the light side, unless you are right under a thunderstorm. Also, rain is looking more likely to fall into the afternoon for the north interior. Lightning chances increase as you go into both the Olympics and Cascades mountains, so that is where the main fire threat is.

Saturday will be cooler as the upper level low swings onshore, bringing highs back down into the 70s. Winds will be a little breezy at times as the low moves through, making for gusty westerly winds through the cascade gaps. Highs will also remain hot for central Washington, staying in the mid 90s.
