Man in critical condition after home invasion robbery in Sammamish
SAMMAMISH, Wash. - A man was hospitalized in critical condition after a home invasion robbery and shooting overnight in Sammamish, deputies said.
After 12:30 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to a report of a home invasion robbery and shooting on Northeast 2nd Street and 225th Avenue Northeast.
Investigators said a family member at the home was shot and taken to Harborview Medical Center, where they said the man was in critical condition.
Deputies are searching for suspects, who remain at large.
It's unclear how many people were involved or if the home was targeted.
Preeti Pareek said this neighborhood is one where everyone knows each other.
"It's really heartbreaking, and it does not make me feel safe here," she said.
Other neighbors told FOX 13 that they moved to that neighborhood because there’s usually so little crime.
"In such a safe neighborhood, if something like that happened to us-- it’s extremely scary for us," one neighbor said. "We wouldn’t even know how to react."
The Investigation remains ongoing.
