SEATTLE -- A Department of Natural Resources employee heard a bear crying in the forest off a road near Brooklyn, Wash., the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife said. Once the bear was located, they saw the cub had his claw stuck in some branches of a tree and worked to extricate the cub from the tree.

Once the bear was released, it scampered up another tree. A Fish and Wildlife biologist spotted its mother pacing back and forth nearby and left the area to allow the two to reunite.
