High levels of toxic algae detected in Green Lake
SEATTLE -- Seattle Parks is warning King County residents not to swim in and keep pets away from Green Lake after high levels of toxic algae were detected.
Toxic algae can cause illness in humans and can even be deadly for some animals when consumed. A test this week found elevated levels of the algae in the water.
The lake will be retested next week to check if it’s safe.
